This is a very special and uncommon physician's Chrono-Timer wristwatch by Gruen from the 1940s. It is a rare Gruen Precision Doctor's Chrono-Timer Wristwatch that was produced and imported in a very small quantity, the total of which is unknown.

This chronograph features a Swiss caliber 450 with 17 jewels, a sub-second, and a chronograph hand for the outer pulsometer and inner scales. It is running well and keeping accurate time. The chronograph is functioning as it should.

The beautiful silver dial has been reprinted, and is marked with Arabic numerals for 12-hour dial, pulsometer, tachymeter, and other inner medical scales. It says Graduated for 30 Pulsations, and is signed Gruen Precision, Chrono-Timer. The hour and minute hands are sword-shaped, the sweep chronograph hand is red, and most interestingly, the second dial is located at 9 o'clock with a gold stick hand. The beautiful case, bezel and fancy lugs are 14 karat yellow gold with very minor wear despite its age. The single chronograph button is located under the crown at 4 o'clock.

It comes on a 17mm brown leather two-piece strap with a gold tone buckle signed HR. The bracelet is also signed Genuine Lizard, 17R.

A very special and interesting timepiece, this rare Gruen Precision Physician's Chrono-Timer Wristwatch will be a terrific addition to any watch collection, and is in excellent condition and runs great!

We prefer to shoot photographs outside when weather is permitting. However, when we shoot indoors, please be aware that we shoot our photographs inside of lightboxes that are lit with 360 LED bulbs. This indeed magnifies any flaws. Usually, they are much less obvious to the naked eye. Having said that, we never photoshop any of our photography, remove blemishes, etc. We adjust lighting when necessary, but what you see is what you are getting, and we take pride in that.
